“This book is about what it costs to finally go all the way there.”
More Than A Song
Sandy Edwards used to think healing had a finish line. That if she prayed hard enough, forgave completely enough, or found the right words, every hard chapter would close clean and she’d walk into the next one without carrying anything from the last.
That is not how her life worked. It might not be how yours works either.
More Than A Song is the story of the years before Thirst With Hunger existed — a childhood marked by a gift she didn’t ask for, a loss she saw coming and couldn’t stop, relationships that taught her what she was willing to survive, and a body that nearly gave out before she understood what her life was for. It’s the story of a marriage that almost didn’t make it, and did. It’s the story of a song born in a season she did not choose, and what God did with it long after she stopped expecting anything good to come from that year.
She did not write this book to hand you a formula. She wrote it because some of you are living in the middle of a chapter that has not resolved yet, and she wants you to know a woman who kept walking anyway.
This book will not tie every thread. What she can tell you is that God was present in every one of them — and she prays that somewhere in the words on these pages, you will find Christ meeting you in yours too.
"Unflinching in what it names, undefended in how it’s told, hard-won in where it lands."
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."
— Psalm 23:4 (NKJV)
